 Dh came out to the veggies gardens while I was watering the other night and I handed him his nightly snack at the fence! 2 radish (all he could handle as they were hot!) and a handfull of peas!

Oh, and one very tiny carrot, barely orange yet! Stood at the gate munching with him while we chatting! What a great summer! Tomato on the vine, beans and peas growing great! Onions that are in need of using already and peppers full length and now filling out! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pasta sauce in the plans........ Can't wait!

Hooray for DH!! There's no better sign of summer than grabbing a fresh veggie from the garden and popping it in your mouth!!

So far I've had just one Cucumber, but the zucchini, tomatoes and peppers aren't far behind!

Oh yes! Onions and peppers maters are looking Great! This pepper is huge and the romas are starting to get a little size on them too :D My regular toms are looking okay now, but after that 'killing frost' I thought I they'd never recover! :D

Just don't mind the weeds, K? :D

Looks yummy!!

I see the straw on your garden. This is the first year that I've mulched the garden with straw from leftover bales. It did a good job of holding in moisture and helped to discourage weeds. I plan to till it into the soil at the end of the season. Is that what you do?

Well  .......... Last Year I was recovering from the 3 surgeries in august and didn't get it till in till this spring. :o

I always use a layer of newspapers overlapped by another layer underneath the straw and wet it down. That beats all the weeds till the summer is over. But........ when I waited to till it under this spring ear, man, there were almost NO weeds from last year! YEAH!!!!!!

As a result, I'm thinking I'll be tilling under in the spring again. It keeps the late and early weeds down till it's time to plant next year! :D

Sooooooo you might want to wait on that! :D
