bringing in potted herbs?

Post by Cheryl z4 WI »

Hi!
Expecting frost this weekend. I have parsley, basil, rosemary growing in containers outside now. Wondering about brining em in for the winter. Any advice woulb be appreciated. Seems like my parsley makes it till about Dec. and then dies. Never tried the bail or rosemary.
TIA

Hi Cheryl,

Parsley is biennial, so is short-lived anyway. Mine already went to seed in its first summer.

Basil will do well on a sunny windowsill.

Rosemary seems to die-off if it is allowed to dry out too much, even once... but if kept too wet will rot. I've not had much luck with rosemary indoors.

Good luck!

Thanks John,
Guess I should be happy with my Parlsley lasting until Dec.
Will give the basil and rosemary my best shot.
