Knee Deep In Tomatos!

Post by kHT »

 No joke!! I had a single mom with two kids take 3 grocery bags from the last picking. This should help
her for a couple meals. I just didn't have time to take them down to the homeless shelter so I found her ad
on CL and was happy to share!

Besides I've almost have a full shelf in the freezer of garden goodies from corn to tomato pastes!

Those look great Karma! Nice variety there.

Mine took their time, but finally started turning a couple weeks ago, now they won't stop! I put up 7 more pints of stewed toms this morning, then I want to get two more big batches of salsa, after I'll give up on trying to keep up with them! Extra tomatoes are a good way to stay on friendly terms with the neighbors. :D

Be patient, Chris, once they start turning red they won't stop!

Yup, we are getting there finally, but I don't think we'll have any substantial crop before we get a frost. We've now picked about a dozen tomatoes out of a dozen plants. I'm going to write off this year's tomato crop at this point, but next year we will plan out the varieties better and get a much earlier start on them.

And Karma, if we were closer I would certainly take up your offer. Those really do look yummy :D
