~ Cats in Winter ~

Temps are warming and things are blooming but winter still holds sway. The cats are especially thick and furry right now. I am afraid miss Gracie will have to go to the groomers and have her belly shaved once it warms up. She is so woolley we can't keep the mats off of her at her leg joints. Though everywhere else she is fabulous and the envy of every cat around. 8-)

Our indoor cats don't seem to get extra thick fur in the winter. I'm sure they do , since they shed enough as it warms up, but it just didn't seem like it compared to the outdoor cats. I love when they get all poofy like that! Their fur is so soft and snuffly. Adorable pics of you two babies. Gracie sure is a big furball!

Gracie is a petite little cat under all that hair - fit and trim. And yes, I spend alot of time vacuuming in the winter. Summer is not so bad, but these winter coats are something else. Now the warming and shedding begins.

Great shots!

As for the extra vacuuming, just consider that they are helping keep your muscles in shape for all that spring cleanup and planting! :)

See, they know what they are doing!

Oh, what pretty kitties. And what great story lines. . . love the kittie in the box one

When our Skeeter lies on his back, we call him our "upside down" kitty.

Skeeter had to be shaved all over last summer and it helped keep him without mats all this time. We called him our naked cat then. . .

Awwww poor kitty! My brother has to do that to his cat in the summer too or she mats horribly he says. Does yours feel embarrassed too? He swears she sulks till it grows in. :) Pretty kitty, lion head and all! :)

They are definitely pretty kitties, and I've been lucky enough to see them in person. Though I haven't seen Gracie with her Eskimo suit on like that before!!! I've only seen her summer coat.

Skeeter, what a hoot. They are so 'different' without their long hair. A big furry lion face, and stubble everywhere else. But they feel so good naked. No pulling matts. We had one like that, and she was golden colored, so funny naked. But she actually liked the attention from the groomer, and it felt good. She was pulling the fur out on her chest in big mouthfuls (it was so matted), so we had her shaved.

My siamese is short haired and I have been using the slicker brush on him a lot in the last 2 weeks. Gobs and gobs of hair, at least 12 brushes full.

Oh, they are adorable Mike! :D Great pics! Gracie reminds me of those big, fluffy powder puffs that used to come with perfumed dusting powder.
