Puppy :)

Post by Annie »

Well here he is!
I decided to name him Travis, after my girlfriend that I got him from, and thats her last name

But he just looks like a Travis!
He does not like the collar at all LOL.

Wilma loves him, Waz really don't care at all about him one way or the other, but George really don't care for him at all.
But then again George HATED Wilma at first and now he sleeps with her.

Oh, my gosh, how I love a puppy! Just look at that bright, beautiful face. He's gorgeous, Annie. I love that bandit-colored eye. Congratulations on your new fur baby. We want to see lots of photos of Travis. Great name, by the way.

Get Travis lots of toys! Puppies need lots and lots and lots of toys - our house looks like a daycare center.

LOL I see already what ya all mean about the fun part!!
He loves to chew and chew and chew.
He is doing very well in his new home already. He LOVES Wilma and she wants to play with him too. But I'm afraid that will have to wait till he gets a bit bigger!

He is doing great so far in his little kennel I got for him. He has only messed in it twice in 2 days. Course I take him out a lot of times a day :) I think he will be a good dog and housebreak easy. He goes EVERY time I take him out (he is such a gooooood boy)
Got him a mini kong toy and LOTS of other stuff to keep him busy when he is awake.
(Had to get Wilma some toys too so she don't feel left out!)
But most of the time he naps cause he is still a baby ya know.
He is going to the vet to get a check up and see about his puppy shots.

I think i'm gonna have fun with this little guy LOL. He is going to keep me on my toes I see.

Travis woke me up this morning whining to go outside. No mess in his pen!

Here is another shot of him giving up on trying to kill his collar and leash LOL.

Awwwwww..he looks so defeated there :(

The twins are too funny in collar and leashes (which they seldom have to wear except when traveling :) One grabs the others leash, so you walk one and that one walks the other! LOL Works especially well when leaving the vets! One is always grabbing her sisters and heading for the door! Funny thing, she isn't the ones who's the most surgeries, or episodes to go to the vets. Weird animals :)

Annie, I would suggest you dont wait to long to let them play. They need to learn how to interact before any bad habits develope. Is the cat that doesn't seem to like the pup declawed? Most of what you will probably see is the cats slapping the pup without their claws to let it know who's boss. I doubt if there will be any serious attack because the cats know the pup isn't much of a threat right now. Later, they may react differently. Be ready with a squirt gun or something to back off the cat if it gets serious. Don't interupt to soon. They all have to learn the social structure of your house.
Fasten yer seat belt! It's gonna be a fun, fast ride. :D :D

I'm sure you are right OED, but I think its the motherly thing in me worring he might get hurt

I'm just worried Wilma may hurt him cause he is so small.
I do let them on the floor together but he is on a leash. I worry that Wilma will step on him. She likes to play with her paws a lot. I'm sure she wouldn't hurt him on purpose.
And I do know Wilma will put him in his place at some time or other, aka snapping at him or growling without harming him. And this is just the pecking order thing, and i'm sure he will need this LOL.
He wants to play until Wilma barks at him, playing and he comes arunning back to me LOL.

No George (kitty) isn't declawed. I wasn't really to worried about George at frist.
But when George seen him, he looked like he does when he sees a rabbit or bird outside the window! And to make it worse George is around 14 lbs now and that makes Travis look so tiny :o
I told my hubby well so much for protecting the cat, I am worried about the cat hurting the dog
I will let them get together and watch them very close.

I'm sure your right but you know how us new mothers are

Thanks again for your help OED!
