Might be the only time you get to rib 'em, when he's half awake, better take the opportunity when it offers itself up!

No baby yet. I think we are going to come off foal watch until we see some other signs from the mare. Truthfully I think we are too anxious and too excited. We saw such dramatic changes in her last Thursday and Friday we thought for sure she was getting ready to have the foal. But now I'm thinking maybe she could go like this for a week and ten days. Since this is "our" first foal, we just don't have enough experience and since this is her first baby, we don't have any idea how she will progress.

My goodness, Peg, don't be so hard on yourself. If I had to go through what you and DH have been going through awaiting the birth of this foal, I would have gone to pieces and somebody would have had to scrape me up with a spatula. You and DH are doing a magnificent job of tending lovingly to Miss Poco until she gives birth. And whatever day that is--whether it is tomorrow or a week from tomorrow--it is going to be the perfect day....the right day. And on that day you are going to hear joyful cheers from this forum because we all know that you and DH are making an exceptional and a gallant effort to give all the love and nurture to Miss Poco that you have the power to bestow. You've got our support and love. So hold fast. That baby will come eventually.

Hey!! Welcome back to the forum , dirtbug!! What have you been up to all this time?
Yep....we're all excited about the upcoming birth and can't wait to see pics of the little one.
And as to your remark about calling them "paints" , I have heard that term often. As a matter of fact, I think I remember hearing it on the tv show "Bonanza" when someone was describing Little Joe's horse. Seems to me that it was a bad guy who mentioned Joe riding a paint pony ....followed by a grunt of disgust and and the spitting of a huge stream of tobacco. Funny what things make an impression on a child.

Well, did you tell him, you two will just have to go on a road trip after the foal is born to hand deliver to the Peg with a 'new baby gift' in hand!

LG! We're still waiting for that baby...
Severe weather right now... high winds with possible hail. I'm still at work but I guess we don't have any electric at home. Its hotter than h_ll and that means the fans are not running in the barn to keep our Poco cool.
