And Doc. His poor tummy will never be the same after his surgery last spring. :( But he's healthy and happy and acts like his old self. :P

What happened with his tummy? I don't remember, or wasn't reading the pet forum back then?

Jane, his intestines became twisted last Memorial Day weekend. We hauled him to the U of I vet clinic and they told us we only had 10 minutes to decide whether or not to do surgery to cut out the twisted part or to put him down. If we decided to do the surgery, the bill ($4,000) would have to be paid before we took him home if he survived or did not survive the surgery. Lots of ifs, lots of crying, he's a performance horse worth some money and DH's best buddy for a long time. We took the gamble and did it and of course now we're not sorry. He was pretty sick for a long time and had complications from the surgery and didn't fully recover until November. He now acts like his old self. :P
