New pic of Zeke

Post by Linda P »

Here's my boy, showing Willie and Annabelle that he can sit pretty too.
He will do this forever if you have something in your hand that he thinks he might like
We have discovered already that pizza and popcorn are two things he will wait for.
He never makes any noise, or moves any closer, just pops up and sits there quietly.
His previous family fed him scraps from the table all the time, so it's a wonder he
isnt' really obnoxious about this.
Sometimes he sits there waiting so long he starts to fall asleep.

Jane, his little legs are too short to be able to saltue. He'd
hit himself in the chin. He can shake, though, and sometimes he puts one paw up while he's waiting.
I'm trying to teach him to dance, but not much luck so far.
Don't worry, Lucy...no pizza for the pup.

Aw,...what a cutie. And sitting up so pretty. That was my first pedigree dog. Than an Irish setting and now my Golden Retriever. I think my Jillie has a touch of weiner dog in her. She has the softest ears! I think daushunds sp? have allot of personality. I do agility with a long haired weiner named "Bungie". Don't know if it's after a "cord" but she sure runs the course in a quickness over all these low jumps. May you have years of puppy pleasure. Later, Love, Lisa

Thanks, Lisa! I've already had many hours of joy with this pup. It's great to have him around.
You're right about those ears...and fortunately, he does'nt mind having his ears petted!
They are like velvet.
I can belive that a dachshund would be good at agility. This litte dude is really fast, and he can disappear
in a flash. I expect I'll find him rummaging around under the hostas a lot next summer!

Yep, Spider. I know they dig. It was the only reason I could come up with not to take him, but so far, he's shown no sign of wanting to dig in the ground.
He loves to bury his toys in an old blanket and then shake the blanket til they fall out. Maybe if I take the blanket outside when we go out in warmer weather he'll think that's good enough.
So far, he's not interested at all in playing outside, even when before the cold spell came along. I think he's been an indoor dog all his life.
We'll just have to see what happens in the spring. I used to have an elkhound/collie mix who would dig huge holes making a cool spot to lay in. She never did dig up any plants. My Sheltie would walk all around the hosta beds, only occasionally going in them. I have a feeling that Zeke may do some damage going after voles, but I'd be willing to make that trade-off!
