Georgia's new brother?

Post by BillyB »

We've aquired another black standard poodle. Meschach belongs to a lady in Augusta who is fighting brain cancer and just was not able to take care of a large dog. After interveiwing a dozen plus families, we were chosen. He's been with us for a little over 2 months now and he is just a sweetheart. BUT! He's HUGE! :o One of the biggest standards we've seen. And we've seen a bunch over the years.
We have not heard from the lady, so we don't her condition. We left the decision up to her if she wanted to stay in contact with us. It was very hard for her to let him go. But we told her, "if she got to a place in her life where she felt she care for him again, we would be happy to bring him home to her". I'm getting a lump in my throat writing this.
He has the most soulful eyes I've ever seen and he just loves Ann to death. And Georgia...well that's a different matter altogether. She was jealous at first and has gradually accepted him more each day we have him.

Please pray for Bebe, Meschach's mom. It's been a very difficult time for her.

Ahhh, such a sweet story, and yes, sad too :( . You are wonderful to take this beautiful dog and make it part of your family.
He is a big boy compared to Georgia! Hoping all goes well with the previous owner and she beats her cancer. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to give up her furchild :bawl: :bawl:

Yes..that is sad, but at the same time it must be a relief for the previous owner to know that her furkid has a good , loving home. Many people fret about what will happen to their animals when they can no longer care for them. It was very brave of the owner to give her boy at this time. I will certainly say a prayer for her. Good luck with your new blended family.

Billy,
What a handsome boy he is! Such a difficult story, but I'm glad he ended up with you. It must be a real comfort for Bebe to know that she could get him back again if she is able, and so great of you to make the offer.
