60 pounds lost and counting

After another summer continuing to work on my weight loss I can now say that I've lost that extra 15 pounds I was hoping to shed. Was at the store and for fun thought I would try on some clothes - I can now fit into a 34" waist. I had already bought a new belt and new 36" waist pants in September, thinking I had probably reached my limit.

Another part of my success was switching to a low salt diet. I'm not sure if I mentioned that before. It makes you constantly read food labels and really watch what you use in cooking. The low salt diet was originally an attempt to combat Meniere's as medication hadn't been working for the past few years, and the weight loss was a nice surprise, really.

So I've reached my goal of losing 60 pounds, but now I hope to loss 15 to 20 more - maybe by the end of 2010 :D

Congratulations, Chris. You are an inspiration for those of us who struggle with the weight thing. And it is nice that you are doing it by being careful with both the quantity and quality of what you eat. Keep up the good work and good luck with the 2010 goal.

Congratulations Chris  That is really a very impressive accomplishment. And thanks for the tip on the salt thing, I should do a better job reading labels too now that I'm on BP medication. You've inspired me to do better.

Chris let me also add my Congratulations, to the new you! Isn't it great to shed a few pounds and
kick some serious problems good bye! Feeling better is a great goal. I'm with everyone that reads
those labels and it's a good habit to get into when one has health issue. Again congrats! Keeping those
lbs coming off and staying off is so much fun, especially as one ages! No salt, , smoking, corn syrup,
soda, eggs and chocolate here!! Limit coffee intake to 3 cups too! Getting old isn't for sissys!!

Morning: WOW! Congrats. Funny how a condition makes us change our eating habits. My mom used to get Meniere's and run to the Dr. for a B12 shot. What an icky feeling to get dizzy. I hope you are few and far between symptoms. You're going to have to buy ALL new clothes. It's allot of money. I found for my cheap self that shopping thrift stores was the way to update my wardrobe cheaper. It kills me to pay full price. I hope our paths cross soon. Later, Love, Lisa

Thanks everyone :)

The funny thing is, I think I held on to all my old clothes up until about 4 years ago. I know we were living here so I had moved a lot of it with me, but I finally gave up and took most of them to good will. Now I'm going back to good will to buy new (to me) things. I'm also able to wear Brian's things, which he is not happy about, though he has donated some things to the cause
