Making Dolls

Post by fullofit »

My latest project to work on is a pair of 'Little Old Ladies', sculptured dolls. I saw the pattern and just love their looks. The only thing not in these pictures are their purses (which are done now). I intend on getting the pattern for the Old Gentlemen, and doing those also. So tell me, do they remind you of anyone that you know? I told my friend that all I need to do is look out my window at the elderly 'walkers' who go by the house, for more inspiration. CHAR

Good job, Char! They certainly make me laugh. They just look so grumpy and cantankerous. The taller , skinnier one reminds me of that cartoon lady.....what's her name? .....Maxine? I've seen her on greeting cards and such.
Do share pics of the old gents when you get them done. You did a great job! :D

Yup, my mother too.
We are spending this month in Florida. Quite a change from Michigan, and I had to have something to do while I am here.
Unfortunately, we will be returning home at the end of the month. I will then go back to work (part time).

I love my little ole ladies. CHAR

Char, they are great! I made dolls for decades, but can't sit at the machine any longer. I really miss seeing them come to life. It's so good to see your little old ladies!

I just saw this and the first thing I thought of when I saw the "ole lady" in the green was she looks like "Walter" the old man doll Jeff Dunham uses in his act.  That mouth and the crossed arms, too cute!!
