Two new Regale Trumpets

Post by oldcoot »

God's Liliums are in full bloom now. Three of the ones OC planted in April HAVE JUST BLOOMED. Lots more to come it looks like. OC might add, that Bee loved the pollen. Don't know what he was doing with it, but OC sat out on his deck almost an hour that morning (cool in the mornings this week) and watch this Honey Bee go all the way to the BOTTON of the Lily, roll around in it and could barely fly out. Afraid to get any closer for disturbing him. .....OC saying please enjoy

Mre of God's Liliums

Post by oldcoot »

OC had a FIT trying to get the color right on this Peach
Trumpet. When it opened the outside was yellow but the inside looked just like a canteloupe. Did the best he could but this is it. OC made a picture of it full open, not yet edited, but it is a rich yellow inside and out. Probably need to be placed in the shade next year......OC

Try to take it with you body shadowing OC? OR maybe in the morning first thing, or later evening? When the sun isn't so high and bright?

It's gorgeous, but would love to see the true colors too! :)

Post by oldcoot »

:-? :-? :-? OC just can't thank the good Lord enough for the beautiful Lilums HE has grown for OC . It is a Turqs Cap Yellow called Citronella, and no, OC doesn't know if thats is where the bug spray comes from

It starts out as a regular 5 petal Lilium. The next day the color deepens and it recuves. seems to be a real winner. plant wise and photographically....Please enjoy this new Lilium of OC 's. FIrst year Bloom...

Your Lilies are gorgeous, OC! I love Centerfold and the organge trumpet!

Do your seed freely? I have 2 common grocery store lillium.
The gold one reseeds like crazy....even to other parts of the yard......but the red one remains one stalk.

Never had any to re-seed,

Post by oldcoot »

Did have a few Asiatic to divide in the front bed. I always either replant in the fall or plant new in the spring.
