I thought it was starfighter, but it appears to me not. Any ideas out there?

This sure reminds me of a lily used in flower shops called "Stargazer".

The smooth edges of the petal sides are very different than a similiar lily that used to be avaliable called "rubrum" that had wonderful wavy petals!

Those are anthers on your flower...they are on the male part (stamen) of your lily and is where the pollen is produced. It's just waitin' for some little bee or hummingbird to breeze by and pick up a few grains of that precious pollen and transport it to the female part (pistil) of another waiting flower! Sexual propagation!.....p

Thanks ladies. I couldn't believe how thick that pollen is. I had to hold the camera under a platform feeder to get this pic, as it was facing down and very difficult! What a fun time when the flower doesn't cooperate and the birds are touqued you are interupting dinner time!

I don't have any idea where I got this unless it was at Hallson's last year. As I said before in another post, it appeared in the bird sanctuary without my knowledge of how. Unless it was planted and buried a few years back? Who's to know!

Hate when that happens!

It does have smoother petals than the others I've seen with similar coloring, that's why I can't figure this puzzle out either!

Seems a little to pink, but that could be the camera or enviormental. It sure is pretty whatever it is!!

I don't know if it's one from Hallson's or not. I do remember Chris and Brian having that slide show going on with all those fabulous Lily pics, so that could have been one of them.

I had to go look at some of my old pics since not all of my Lilies have bloomed yet. The closest I could find to that one is called 'Angelique', but I'm not sure it is the same as yours. I think I bought mine here at one of the local nurseries.

Now that I see the pics up there together I can tell they aren't one and the same. Mine seems to have more yellow in the throat, doesn't it? Wonder if Chris can tell you if it's from Hallson's?

Is it fragrant? Orientals are fragrant Of course it might be a hybrid LA form!!!

Not as simple as it used to be!

I am terrible at remembering some plants. So I keep a folder now and put all my receipts in there to help me remember when, where, what!
