Which lilies do well in partial sun?

Post by flowerchild59 »

Anyone have any ideas for a partial sun bed that I want to put a few lilies in??? Fragrance is optional, but always a plus :D

I was always lead to believe these were pure sun lovers but just read they will do fine in partial shade. Maybe Chris or someone else knows for sure?

What time of day is it in partial shade?

That said almost all of mine are in partial shade on the west/north end of our house. So they get aftyernoon/evening sun. At the old house the were all on the east side of the house and got morning sun and did fine.

Some orientals like partial shade, particularly in the afternoon.

Many orientals do fine in half-day sun. Martagon lilies need less than that.

It is so great to be back wits my Lilium Friends. Have NO IDEA what I'll have this year. The deck - my big Lilium bed had to go. With a BIG DAWG Great Dane (now weights 120 pound and sits pretty much where she pleases.) She liked digging up the bulbs and eating them. Made her really sick so the Liliums WENT. No way to keep her off the deck. Mine in the front yard are just coming up so don't how many or what kind. Certainly will post if I do have any. Will start a new bed this fall.......
An OLD COOT so happy to be back with you......... :D :D :D
