Freak of nature?

This one is growing at the top of our little development. I finally had to stop and take a picture. Never have I seen such fasciation! The stalk must be nearly 4" across, with this entire bridal bouquet of blooms. I seem to remember a big floral display there last year; is this kind of thing likely to repeat from year to year? Can it be passed on to offspring (both offsets and by pollination)?

Wow, that is Crazy Cool!!!
Don't know the answers to any of your questions, but a very cool anomaly, if that's indeed what it is.
So I suppose the neighbors are used to you taking pictures all around the neighborhood?!

WOW - That is WILD!
I don't think it is likely to repeat, I had a gaura that fasciated a couple of years ago (one stal was about 1" across with all those crazy thin flower scpaes sticking out the top) and it has never done it since.
I do like that one though!

No, not tied together. This is one fasciated stalk rising from the ground. Like a flattened broccoli.

Wow! That is definitely cool! It sure does look like the stalks have been tied together! Bizarre!

It is so cool looking, like a bouquet. Would that not make a beautiful bridal bouquet?? Got my mind thinking, but anyway, Tigger you gotta go ask the owner what kind it is and get the facts
Hurry
