martagon lily

planted this rare lily this year and it blossomed. :D so excited to see it. it's very dainty but can reach 4 feet tall. petals are turned up resembling turk's cap lily. native to southern europe to siberia. this one has white petals. it's also found in colors from dark maroon to mauve and white (some with spots). hope it survives as bottom leaves are turning yellow. sorry photo isn't better.

Hi Birdy,

Thanks for sharing!

Don't water it too much. They like really good drainage and we never water ours, have them in a sandy area behind our shed so the sprinkler never even hits it and they grow great. I'll have to watch for flowers soon - hopefully the deer didn't get them
