Pat - to entice you more on Epis and Hellebores, look at the photos on my website. They are fantastic plants and the hellebores especially get you through that winter blah phase when everything else is asleep.

just click on the WWW button on my signature line :)

Andi, my Cardiocrinum has green leaves, not the bronze like yours. Mine is Gigantum, is yours? Mine is also getting eaten by slugs! I am just glad to see it come back this year. It was a freebie from Hayes nursery and I wasn't sure if I had planted it at the right depth.

My cardiocrinum had huge green, shiny leaves last year, and this is coming up in the same place that I planted it, so I'm assuming this is just it's spring color? If that's not it, then I have a mystery plant growing LOL!!!
