More great shade plants...

Post by doublemom2 »

I got this primula from Mike - and of course lost the tag so I don't know which one it is. Love the color!

Epimedium davidii isn't quite a showy as some of the others, but it seems to bloom when the others are done, so it carries over into summertime. :)

And I can't say enough about Heuchera Marmalade... the color is WONDERFUL!!!

Is the yellow Primula tall and fragrant? If so, then I vote for Primula florindae.

Doris - It's tall, not sure if it's fragrant. My sniffer doesn't work too well anymore, but I'll check it out tomorrow :)

Thanks for the ID :)

I believe it is the cowslip Primrose. Sure looks like it from what I remember. It was fragrant when I was there and smelled it.

I bought my first Heuchera the other day. About died when I saw the price tag :o , but jumped in and got it anyway. It is Heuchera Obsidian and is supposed to be almost black. Right now it is little bitty and a real dark purple on some leaves and a ligher redish purple on the others. Hope it grows!!

Ginger.... Here's H. 'Obsidian' for ya... Keep in mind that it'll do better with a good shot of sun, not totally shade :)

Hey Andi, thanks for the pic! Mine gets morning sun of about 2 hours, then shade rest of the day. It is looking good and is growing a bunch. The color is looking a lot like yours. How much will these spread out? How long will it take?
