Just an idea for your shade gardens-my Reeves Skimmia only gets 3 feet tall gets white flowers in the Spring and little decorative red berries follow.

Pandora, it probably won't be hardy for you. Zone 6b is a limit, unless you have it in a very protected area. And it likes sandy soil, which might be hard to find in Ohio!
