Mountain Laurel with two different flowers

I was out patching my rabbit barrier today - I found them frolicking in my yard and taking a lot of hosta leaves - not eating just nipping them off and I know they will go after scapes next.

Back in one corner I have a Mountain Laurel in full flower.
Here are the flowers on the front of the bush.

Since I was crawling under the bush to patch the barrier I noticed the flowers on the back side were different.

This is weird. I started to think the bush might had a graft on it.
The ticker branch on the right is the front of the bush with the darker flowers.

Anybody run into this before? My Mountain Laurels have been in place for about 10 years. They were some of the first bushes I put in after setting up the garden. I have many different flowers but I hadn't noticed that back flower before. Now I have to check my other bushes.

I went back to my old garden maps and tracked the names of most of the Mountain Laurel. The bush in question is called "Olympic Fire". That is the flower on the back side. I think the front is "Pinwheel" - I have similar flowers on other bushes with that name. So I think "Pinwheel" was grafted on to "Olympic Fire". I don't recall the source of the bushes - that was ten years ago and I was buying a lot from many sources. I did get a lot of stuff from Rare Find in Jackson, NJ. It is a great place to wander around in for shrubs. I have been meaning to get back there for a Franklinia. As a side note on Rare Find - it was there, 10 years ago, that I saw the Hosta Hanky Panky for the first and my garden turned from shrubs to Hosta.

Found another one. This is my biggest bush. The label says "Bullseye".
Mountain Laurel "Bullseye" on the left - June 10, 2018
Mountain Laurel "Bullseye" on the left - June 10, 2018
That's Bullseye's flower on the left. This is on the "front" side of the bush and is one of the last flowers. On the back side I noticed the other flowers just staring to open. I think this is "Pinwheel" - it matches another bush that is labeled "Pinwheel". BUT what is more unusual about this bush is that it has a large segment with no flowers - it could be another graft.

I labeled the unknown flower at the top of the topic as "Pinwheel" because it matches some web photos for "Pinwheel" but the photos show a lot of variability so I really can't tell.
