Another First Blush seedling
Last year I posted pictures of an open pollinated First Blush seedling, seed was obtained from Jim's Hostas. Last year I also posted "Seed search" looking for some seeds with a red flower genetic back ground and redcrx was generous enough to send me some, five packs in all. Among them were some H. "Dostoyevsky" selfed seed. I managed to raise ten seedlings and six of the ten flowered last summer. I then pollinated my H. "First Blush" with pollen from one of them. I am posting a few pictures of one seedling from that cross. I think the leaves are attractive and I'm hoping for red/pink flowers. I have five total and I won't know until they flower if I have any red flowers. Will have to wait and see.

Just a couple of newer pictures.Out of the five in this cross, this is the one that has the most red pigment in the leaves, still a work in progress.

I agree, that is very nice. Great to see this one have so much potential. I can imagine getting something nice and thick like a good blue into this one could be good. Bob is probably working on that a lot. Thanks for sharing.
