Never had a seedling like this.

It's hard to believe this came from a single seed planted last Oct/Nov.

What started out as a green/white streak that sent up a scape, all new growth is cream/white streaked.

The two new eyes look they will be cream/white streak, and that the regular green and white eye will be gone.

I've never had a seedling do this--it's morphing before my eyes.

closeup......not the best...the only color is visible when it the leaf first unfurls---then it gets lighter.

How strange! It looks like two completely different hostas planted in one pot together! :o Very  though.

Could there have been another seed that rode along with the seedling that maybe was a late riser? Two very cool seedlings though.

Very interesting. You would think one with either of the green or white, but that difference is  together! :D

At 12:00 is the green/white eye, and the two new pale eyes are at 9:00 & 11: 00 o'clock and are coming from the green/white eye as well!

It's one seed!

Very interesting! In that last close-up do I see some red and wavy petioles too? This hosta has it ALL!

I think I read somewhere that the red petioles are at their best in the cool months, fading in the hot months--don't know if it's true or not. But the only only missing trait so far is rippled edge or of course puckering...... But it's on a genetic free-for-all right now....
