Paper tags with strings... source?

I've seen them several times. Some hybridizers tie a string with a hanging tag to the flower to mark the cross. Where do you get those?

I'm a little tired of using masking tape and kite string.

:-? Anyone know?

Well, to answer my own question, I ran across some from a mailing supplies place. So I suppose OfficeMax or someplace might have them? I never even thought about that kind of use. I just thought, "Who'n the heck else would use something like that??"

I've gotten the string tags at both Office Max and Office Depot.

Pretty sure I saw them at Walmart...with the yard sale tags and such, in the office supply section.

I purchased mine at office depot. Usually they come in white or super bright neon colors  .

These DO work good. I bought a box. One bad thing about them... They are very small, and I can't get anything to write on them. So instead, I made tags out of cut-up plastic venetian blinds. I cut 2" sections of the blinds, then I cut those in half lengthwise again. I sandwich those tags between the adhesive of the jewelry tags. They wrap around most flowers easily. Thanks for the idea!

Neat adaption of that labelling idea, Jeff. 8-) When I had my gift shop, I think there were also 'barbell' tags that had about twice the surface size of the small ones available. They would be good if you could find them or were using a #ing system for your pod & pollen plants.

Cool idea to combine the venetians and the jewellery tags. I thought I had invented venetian tags, but this is a great idea to extend the concept. BTW, I got my venetians free on our local Freecycle site - in ONE day!!!! I made long ones to stick up out of the soil to identify the hostas and shorter ones to bury right beside it ( in case I forget what it is and the tall one gets lost) I put all my labels at the 3 o'clock position so I will know where ot dig!!!
I am experimenting with wax marking pencil and garden markers to see what lasts longest.

I think plain ole #2 pencil lasts the longest outside...
