Just two seedlings

Post by Tigger »

Note: I'm not a serious hybridizer, but like to grow a few seedlings from time to time for fun.

I started these last year, taking seeds right off a scape that someone brought to our seed swap and called it 'Leprechaun'. I suspect, however, that this was OP from 'Lakeside Leprechaun'.

The first one (wavy green): Even at 2 years, I like the color and ruffles, and it seems vigorous. It seems more glaucous in real light.

The second one has a strange center vein. I can't imagine it showed this last year, but there must be some reason it made it through the culling process. Maybe this is a result of our late cold snap.

The others I kept from last year are less interesting, although one is pretty beefy for a 2nd year plant.

Nice seedlings. Has the second one continued with the midrib streak?
