I got a "red" flowered plant in this season

It came in with a flower scape. The scape has survived so far and a couple of flowers opened today.

I made some crosses today on:
Tickle Me Pink, nigrescens, Kogashiyama Fukurin (small white-edged plant with tall scapes and large dark flowers), Xiangliu (my weedling probably out of Korean Snow), Stephanie in Moonlight (one of my Gold Standard sports with a late scape), plantaginea, tsushimensis. I'm waiting for Hoosier Harmony to open. I'm hoping a Lily Pad OP 12 will open while I have the "red" pollen - the flower is white.

Does this one have a name/lineage? Looks nice. I'm guessing the hosta is a Plain Jane, though.

Hi Ed, I agree with druff, very nice indeed. What about that streaked Dostoyevsky seedling, any chance of it flowering this year? You know you could collect some pollen and put it in the fridge to hold it for a couple of weeks or even freeze it for a year or more. I may have just answered my own question, looked up the All Plain Green X Dostoyevsky post. It may have finished flowering, that might have been a good cross.

I have no lineage on it. I know it's out of Jeff Moore work. The plant is plain green so nothing to look at until the flowers show up. But I did get a streaked seedling out of a green X green cross with Dostoyevsky last season.

Waldo, I see you found the post on All Plain Green X Dostoyevsky - I made a bunch of crosses not much took, it's too hot. I might have the last two surviving - they were crossed with it's sibling.

The darn thing opened 4 flowers today. I was hoping to get a week of pollen.

It's a Bad Day in Blackrock. I had been waiting for a seedling to open so I could cross it with pollen from this plant. It was supposed to be from Lily Pad and have white flowers. It opened today - arrggg - wrong plant. I got something wrong when I put this garden together a few years ago - I must have grabbed the wrong pot. I got small purple with short stamen and re-curved petals - weird flower (from what I expected).

I crossed it both ways anyhow.

This plant finished flowering yesterday - the last two opened. I did store some pollen. I made a lot of crosses on to Hoosier Harmony because that was the most convenient white flower I had access to. Also picked up a Royal Wedding with a few flowers left - it got some pollen too. Crossed a few others.
I did find another scape starting out on another red flowered plant from Jeff Moore called Mysterious Cat. Hope the rabbits don't find it - I think I finally have them blocked off.

Nice flower on this one, Ed. I feel we should pay more attention to flowers than we have, but perhaps that's just me. :D
