Nasty HVX on Golden Anniversary

Post by Penhalion »

I bought this as a bagged, bareroot hosta very early in my hosta career (Spring of '98 or '99). I'm not entirely sure that it really is Golden Anniversary, it's always been weird looking. In fact I thought it had died several years ago. I have it planted in back of a clump of other plants and I didn't see it one spring so I thought it had gone to Hosta Heaven. But no, like a creature in one of those Evil Dead movies, it is Undead and still kicking. If you have a weak stomach, don't look at the picture, it is very, very grim. I am going out to put a Roundup stake thru it's heart this weekend.
