sick stiletto?

Post by valereee »

I was given this Stiletto from a local garden center last year and planted it before I heard how common HVX was in Stiletto. I got suspicious and took this photo. Is it HVX, or am I just being paranoid because it's Stiletto? Or is this not a good enough photo to tell?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Val,

I hate to say it but yes, that is what HVX looks like on Stiletto. You will want to throw the plant away. Try to let the garden center know, too, and direct them here if they have any questions.

Welcome to the forums, too :)

Chris, thanks! Bummer. Well, when the plant comes up this spring, I'll destroy it. Fortunately it's not planted near others. I've been pretty good about cleaning my tools and such, so with any luck I won't have infected other plants.
