Mistress Mabel - is this just cold weather or ??

Post by renaldo75 »

My MM has always looked great!! Then early this spring when it was unfurling, one eye produced 5 or 6 leaves that don't look right. The other divisions appear to be fine. And the new growth from the eye with the misshapen leaves are fine, too. So I'm hoping this is just a cold-weather thing.

the ugly leaves aren't nearly as noticeable now that MM has unfurled more, but in early spring they really stood out..

This one looks like it got "cooked in the squat" so to speak. I think it is just a cold weather thing. Your Bridegroom, on the other hand, looks like HVX. Ookie!

Yes, this looks like frost or some other damage. It is confined to the tips and the newer leaves look fine.

I'm definitely no expert , but my first thought was weather related damage. Thank goodness you guys think so too, because I've got some that look very similar and I hope it was from the frost and up and down weather we have had this spring. Whew!

Thanks guys!! :P I didn't think this was infected, but wanted to be sure. Jamie had found this one for me in 2003 & I got it from him at Jimmy Mac's that summer. So I wasn't wanting to part with it very badly.
