Sum It Up Virused

Post by tsneal »

Rather sure this Sum It UP is very infected...ugh!

Good news is that is was only purchased last fall and I was very careful with it (cleaning tools, etc) because I was unfamiliar with the nursery and when I asked about HVX, they didn't have a clue.

Thanks for sharing the picture Stephanie, so we know what it looks like.

Really sorry to see it, but that sure was good intuition! Since the Sum and Substance family can take 2 to 3 years to show really obvious virus symptoms I would wager a good bet that this was virused for a while at the nursery.

I'm thinking you are right and I'm returning it. The leaves only had a bit of yellowing on the very end....I thought might just be from improper care while in the greenhouse but was careful. It sure showed its signs this spring!

Now I'm sure my Stilleto is sick too. A friend just called and said she thought hers had HVX. So I went out to get her a start off mine....it doesn't look so good. I'll try to post a picture later.

Thanks so much
Stephanie
