I would say yes, but I do know there are several plants out there that look like that but supposedly do not have HVX. Do you know what name it was being auctioned under?

 Yes, that is definitely virus. Don't be so unsure of yourself Joan ;)

But I would also be interested to know how they are marketing it :hmm:

They are calling it "1 of a kind Genetic Freak hosta very very unusual". I'll let the auctioneer know it's got the virus

 One of a kind? How about one of a million or so like it!

Thanks for informing them, although don't be surprised if they give you the brush off. That happens a lot with these auctions. Even last year there was someone who insisted on auctioning virused plants after they knew they were virused, and just said they would warn the people who bought them

Doesn't that just make you so mad. I wonder what kind of "warning" they would give before selling it?
If this is an ebay auction you can try notifying ebay if the person who owns it doesn't take it off the auction. You might even be able to contact all the bidders and tell them yourself.....if that's allowed? I know occassionally you do see these on ebay advertized as "new variety" or "unusual sporting", etc. :x

Great news! He's taken the auction offline and will be talking with Chris to get more information regarding the virus. Yipee!! Hopefully we can see him here soon.
