Chris told me not to be so unsure of myself, so I'll give my opinion.
1st pic: HVX
2nd pic: something else going on with those brown spots
3rd pic: possibly the beginnings of HVX signs

So now let's wait for Chris and he can grade my answers. :???:

Sorry you're having problems with some of your hostas, Judy. What a bummer to have to worry all the time. I watch and worry about mine too. :(

Hi Judy3,

If the green markings on the leaf in the first picture were occurring on an otherwise clean leaf I would have said it was HVX, but since there is so much damage to that leaf I think the green marks are from something else.

The second leaf is just getting too much sun.

The third leaf also looks fine, maybe getting a little too much sun too, but I don't see any of the dark green bleeding along the veins that you would see on August Moon.

So I don't think I see any HVX on them, but if you see any of those dark green markings on that first hosta on a clean leaf (one that isn't marked up or damaged) then post it again.

Take care,

Chris

And no wonder I am unsure of myself!
Glad I was apparently wrong about that first one, Judy.

I thank you so much for viewing my hosta and for your reply. Early this year the first GS seemed to get slits in the leaves, not sure why, maybe some kind of bug; anyway the leaves with the slits and damage are the ones affected. I was worried about the August Moon because it seems to be turning blue. Thanks so much for your reply

I think we all have! We're paranoid hostaholics. I hope they don't put bans on us visiting neighborhood gardens one day!
