HVX on Night Before Christmas

Post by jachurch »

The University of Minnesota lab has confirmed this Night Before Christmas in my yard to have HVX. Note the darker green, the white striping along the veins, the pebbly texture and the sharply defprmed leaf edge.

The plant is on its way to the landfill, but here are pictures I took before sending it away.

I believe I introduced HVX to my yard last year when I bought an infected Gold Standard. I simply thought it had an unusually pretty leaf. That was before I learned about HVX and started the disinfection process between plants.

I'm sorry you have an infected plant. :( Thanks for posting the pic, though. It really helps the rest of us to see what signs to look for, especially in hostas that are a bit harder to detect the signs.
