Please help me with my hostas. Something is wrong with them and I'm worried that they have the HVX. I puchaced them at the PX and after reading that blue cadets are high on the virus list, I'm afraid they have it. The last two pics are the one I split and I was thinking that I cut too much of the roots and they just need time to heal. They all have water spots and I don't know why. Thanks, Christina
Do my Blue Cadets have a virus?
I posted this on the main forum but will put it here too.
Doesn't look like HVX to me. Just looks like the blue waxy coating is coming off of the leaves - a common phenomenon.
Blue hostas are really green with a wax coating on their surface. Over a season the wax can “melt off” in the heat and can also wash off in heavy rains or with frequent overhead watering.
