What is black death virus, KHT?

Post by lazygardner »

I tried searching the internet for 'black death virus spread by aphids' but I didn't see anything that sounded specific.

Thanks John for the link! There has been some more discussion about this at another forum called GardenBuddies if you are interested.

Black Death usually is apparent on the veins. If you have ever seen symptoms like this in your hellebore collection then it would be prudent to dispose of infected plants (or better, all plants).

Fortunately, I've never had it; but I've seen it, and it's not pretty. Reports suggest that it is fatal to the infected plants.

EEEEeeeeeeewwwwwwWWWWW!!!!!
Thanks for the pictures and the info. I only have one hellebore which I got quite a few years ago. It seems to do okay, tho it never really grows. Since it blooms and never dies, I'm satisfied. *shrug*
