What took you so long, Joan??

I discovered a lot of new heucheras in 2003 when I was out looking for more hostas I hadn't found in 2002. Up until then I'd just seen the Bressingham hybrids & they didn't do a lot for me even though I had a few. I guess I did have a Palace Purple before that. They became another fast addiction. I restrained myself & only got one last year. They look great mixed in with hostas, and I will keep doing that. Lots of colors not available in hostas & they set each other off very nicely I think. But just yesterday I was thinking that in one really sunny spot on the east side of my house it might be kinda  to do a grouping of heucheras. I haven't seen the book you're referring to yet, Miss Shade. I'm pretty sure it will not be in my local library. Maybe if I ever get to a Borders again in my lifetime...

Read this and laughed cause I too have a Purple Palace and hadn't given heucheras much thought till this year when an e-buddy suggested we split a flat and I got Amber Waves! Wow! Have heucheras changed over the years!
Guess what I'm now collecting in addition to daylilies, hostas and ferns?

Maid those were absolutely gorgeous! I just added a few more to my must have list for this year!!

Those are all lovely, but I just put Peach Flambe very high on my list - to go with Dolce Peach Melba. I think they will look gerat together!

Thanks for posting the fantastic photos

I just ordered Obsidian. I think it would set off just about any plant near it!
