Caramel is an odd one. Mine is a year old, growing like gangbusters and is the color of baby poop. It had much better color last fall and over the winter. I'm not sure what has happened to it.....

Alexa - you may want to move it into a sunnier location. Heuchera are shade tolerant, but I think the peach-colored ones definitely need a lot of light to keep good color.

The Caramel I just got is not peach colored! It's the color of a piece of caramel candy (maybe a shade lighter).

Molly - I was using 'peach' to mean the lighter colored heucheras. They all have less chlorophyll in the leaves than the ones with green or purple leaves. So I think they need to have more light to do better & have the coloration they're sposed to have.

Oh I see Reynaldo. I have several of them now. They seem to like some sun but Lime Rickey isn't sharing their love of the sun. It's getting some brown splotches. I was at the nursery where I got it yesterday and their stock there was doing the same thing so I asked about it. They felt it was getting too much sun there. Most trees haven't leafed out so there is little to no protection from the sun right now.
I'm holding my breath to see if the shade will help or not before the plant goes belly up!

I'm not sure what to tell you on your Lime Rickey. I saw your pic & I thought the plant itself looks very healthy. Maybe just move it into a more shaded spot for now & hope for the best.

YEP - color descriptions are very subjective! One persons "caramel" is anothers "baby poop"!   :o

Thanks Claudia! I'm still looking for just the right spot for it. Not sure if to group it with the others or start a new heuchera section with it :P
These little plants are highly addicitve!

Wish I could move it somewhere shadier Reynaldo but right now our trees haven't leafed out. A few are beginning to but I'd say we have another week at least of too much sun here.
Thanks for the nice comments on Rickey. Wish I could take credit but that is how I got it (for $12.99!) in a one gallon pot. This nursery sells really nice plants 99.9% of the time. I've gotten most of my heucheras there because of this. Also they have a large selection of hostas but I'm a bit leery of getting hostas so I tread more carefully there. If even one in the bunch looks suspicious I pass them up just to be a bit safer.
