Yes, the forum login doesn't work for the shopping cart since the cart needs much more information such as your address, phone, etc. You don't have to create an account for the cart, but if you do you will have access to your order history, tracking once the order ships, plus can create wish lists if you aren't going to checkout right away.
You can use the same name and password if you want, to make it easier to remember, but you will have to register with them first.
