It is one a friends hosta. They got it as a gift, buut it is easy to see something is strange.
Can't see any zig zagging, but only all those fine lines :-?

While I am no expert on the virus, that looks much too uniform over the entire leaf. Could be just a combination of stress and nutritional deficiency.
Many a great tune has been played on an older fiddle.

Certainly scary looking, but is this one of those hostas that aren't infected but have markings like that normally? I know Kiwi Forest can be scary looking with it's splotches, but supposedly it's okay.

I was thinking nutrient deficiency too, but then started wondering if this is just supposed to be a misted, light colored plant. It doesn't look like a virus. I wonder what it will do now that it is planted :hmm:

They got it last year and it is planted in the soil. They do have a lot of hostas but have kept this one in a special corner.. I have scared them you know :wink:

By the way, it is rather ugly :lol:

But Chris may be on the track, I looked very closely on a leaf on Guardian Angel, and it seems to have the same patern .. don't belive me.....go look :wink:
