'War Paint'

Post by hostadad »

I couldn't resist taking this picture. I wish I could get the resolution sharper for this one. This has to be one of the most spectacular leafed hosta!! Easily one of my favorites. When I walk by this hosta I couldn't help from staring at it.

David.

That is just beautiful.

Mine is the same ole three leaves that it was last year. But those three leaves are really pretty. Wish I had a bunch like that! Can't wait until that one spring.....

That one has it ALL! I can't think of any other white-centered with a rippled edge like that.

WOW!!!

You need to have Bob add that picture to the hosta library.

Excellent job growing that one.

Ah, just looked it up: a viridescent white-centered Niagara Falls (hence the gorgeous ripples). Still, even the all-green Niagara Falls is a winner, so having one that looks like THIS in the spring... Bonus!

How quickly does it change?

Quit it, David! I really am trying to resist the urge to get more plants! I held off from War Paint last year, vowing that I will wait until they get one that holds that color all year.

Must resist . . . arrrghhhh!

Gorgeous pic, David!! I have planted Warpaint here twice, this year it's one that got frozen, along with Niagra Falls, which used to be a big plant, so time will tell. :)
