Nederland guy is next to the Artistic judge. I clerked for her. David's friends name is Erin. She used my camera to take a group photo. Later, Love, Lisa
Have I mentioned lately that my drinking team has a hosta problem?

The artistic judge is Lynn. She's a member of the local hosta society, has been since it was founded, but is an American Garden Club association judge. I had the pleasure of her company for several hours during the leaf show registration.

Lynn is a great lady and lives here in Muscatine. Like Linda I've had the pleasures of chatting with her quite a bit. She's one of the main volunteers for the Muscatine Arboretum here. Hopefully within the next 10 years all the trees that were planted will get some size to them, so we can donate a crap load of hostas and create another bed. I'll try and get some pictures and give a little tour of the arboretum that Lynn and others have worked so hard to create.

Not everyone got in on this group project. David, Ken, & who else is MIA? Oh, Trudy & Connie; I think were in the gift shop! So we shot them later!

Thanx! David for starting this thread.

Back row - Hosta Rod, Jerone, Dr. Dave, Jim Hienz, Jimmy Mac, Kimmy, Jamie, the guy that works on the rail road - tell us you handle again, please; Lisa, of course, she never misses a picture opportunity!

front row - Josh, Marlys, Lois, Linda P, & Judy!

Thanx! Josh - Jeff seemed really nice & maybe just a litte shy. I had a nice conversation with him @the picnic gathering. Sounds like he gets around with his work taking him all over our beautiful state. It's always good to add another addict to our pack.

We drove home up the Illinois side of the Mississippi River to visit Dubuque Arboretum then down hwy 151 (after a short stent on hwy #20). (Made a 3 hour drive into all day and then some. Got home about 8:00 pm. Stopped for supper in the Amana Colonies.) The scenery was so beautiful with the oats turning and the green, green corn of Home. We were reminded of how blessed we are to live in Iowa. The urban sprawl is concerning tho with more and more pasture and crop ground disappearing every single day. Makes one wonder what will our world look like in another 1/2 century. I bet there will still be hostas unless all the trees are cut down or up-rooted in the name of progress.

Hey, Jeff....glad you checked in. I thought maybe we'd have to name a hosta "Valley's Running Scared" after your mass intro to the group.
I'm still trying to get myself back into the swing of things. The convention just went by way too fast, and I'm still on hosta overload! I've been to two hosta gardens since the convention, so that hasn't helped. I'm thinking that I might need to name a hosta "Slide Zone" . (any Moody Blues fans out there?)
Marlys, If you came up Rt 84, you were 8 miles from my place when you crossed Rt 30. :( I wasn't home, though; I was out at Roxanne's.
Did everyone meet Dale? Silly me...I talked to her twice before I figured out who she was.
Reldon, somehow we managed to have a great time without you. I know, it was tacky of us, but we did.

Ha! I would definitely have to get that hosta, to plant by my h. Moody Blues! :D

I just dragged the other half of Pepper1 up to Minnesota last weekend to see them perform Slide Zone! That's the real reason we couldn't make the Midwest convention!

I'm still enjoying hearing about the convention and what you all bought.

(I went to find a shooting star, around the bend that's where they are...)
