very vigorous bunch...

my Mack the Knife have been in their places for, I think, five years are are never more than two eyes.

And St. Paul - not very fast growing for me, and such a nice even clump in your garden.

I think my JOTN might be a little larger - but its not growing in a pot. Nice to see that yours is also really unstable in its coloring... I like the plant a lot but I also get a lot of the unusual leaf variation... looks like it is natural to the plant and not something to worry about.

Thanks everyone!

Mack the Knife is in the second year in my garden. It came from Chris last year and is overcoming the challenge of growing under a Silver Maple. It won't be there forever, but it is doing quite well despite the less than favorable conditions. I do find it curious that the petioles are very wide on this one - is that typical?

St Paul is a monster in my garden! He was a very small liner that got planted late in the season 2 years ago. THat makes this the 3rd year in my garden but he is really doing well. It is in a slightly raised bed with great amended soil and super drainage - maybe that is contributing to the happy growth?

I just potted JOTN a couple of weeks ago - I had split it in half last year to send a chunk to a friend and she is responding well. Almost back to full size from last year and yes I love the unstable coloring! It is what attracted me to it in the first place!

Thanks for looking at my photos!
