I'm going to be very busy tomorrow morning; so here is the first hosta for Thursday, Sept. 29.

Name: H. 'Lakeside Mom'

Description: ovate leaves streaked with light green, greenish yellow, yellow and creamy white
Size: Med-Large (36"w x 18"h)
Origin: cross of two seedlings by Mary Chastain
Flowers: medium lavender, tubular
Added to garden: Spring 2009

This one bloomed for me in 2010, but did not bloom this year for some reason. I'm looking forward to some seeds from her.

I REALLY like this hosta and wish it would produce some seed for me. It DID bloom this year, so maybe next year.

This one continues to be my favourite Lakeside hosta. It's looking good, but it didn't bloom in 2014. Photo July 27, 2014.

Beautiful! I have a love/disappointed relationship with LS Mom. I had a full size one which did not bloom in the first year. The 2nd year, 40% of the plant reverted to green. Yes, I divided it, and no it did not bloom after division. Last year I divided 75 % of the plant, and no blooms.
Finally, this year I divided 50% of the plant and this photo is what's left. I think this one may keep for awhile. You have to love the colors of LS Mom.

How disappointing. Maybe you need to try a different plant or one from a different source. I hope what you have now stays streaked for you.

I thought about buying another, but a friend who has it has gone through the same thing. He got his from a different place than I did. That's why I didn't buy again. I am thinking that this might hold up now. The division which I thought was reverted is showing mild streaking in two leaves. So, it wasn't totally reverted after all I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one. Thanks.

2016 update - I got some seeds and they grew, but the seedlings have been disappointing.
