Not mine, but it is a friends Regal Splendor from 2001. Only one of the eyes look like this. It is standing next to an apple tree

Pia, that looks like the infected Regal Spendors I saw last year. Yesterday I saw a Krossa Regal in that shape as well!!

I would dispose of it immediately!!! It looks infected.

That doesn't look exactly like HVX but it does look like a virus, which is incurable, so off with it's head (and all the roots, too). Sorry for your friend.

It does look like a virus, but I don't know if it is hosta virus x or a different virus.

I want to get some more plants tested not so much to confirm HVX but to see if it is a different virus causing it. On one from Holland this spring (Hosta 'Venucosa') the leaves look exactly like the top picture. I know it is a disease but am not sure if it is from HVX or something else...
