I have had Winter Snow in my garden for many years and to me the color seems to standout more than the original Sum and Substance. Maybe it's the contrast with the bright white edge that make the center color seems brighter. I don't have them planted side-by-side to see if there really is a difference.

I have Winter Snow in 3 places in the gardens.
Here is the oldest and smallest - probably now enough light and too much tree root competition. Here is my "newest" - about 3 years. Here are a couple.
