Help with A ID
I only know that it is old and it is fragrant. Any ideas. Thank you.

It does look old - 1920's or 30's probably. It might be Lent A Williamson as that is a common oldie in this color pattern that is wide spread due to its vigor and ability to thrive on neglect. Would be hard to say for certain without growing a real one next to it to see though. Old purples are the hardest to ID as there are so many of them that are all very similar to each other.

He got his from his mother, who said she got the first of hers from HER mother. And of course OC's mother gave her favorite (and ONLY son) some for him to grow...Really do grow and divide well.................John
