Glad they made it there, John. I trusted the USPS, but had a moment of panic thinking you might have gone "downtheshore" for the weekend. But then I realized you're pretty much already there!

Got mine today from Pat (tap_ia_hifive_29). This is so cool. I got Limey Lisa, Chartruse Wiggles (which I've been looking at) Silver Threads and Golden Needles( I think this one is going to look so cool) Po Po and Twist of lime. Pat gave me nice planting instructions which I followed and planted not to long ago. Thanks again Roxanne and Pat. Can't wait until next year to do this again.

I got my box!!! Gosh, I just love these trades - thank you so much Roxanne for arranging this one. I am so excited...I FINALLY got Paul’s Glory!!! And a lovely Lady Godiva...both from lykaon78 by way of Hallsons! Thank you so much - I just love them. As usual, our dear Chris & Brian sent out generous plants in prime condition. They will be hiding in the air conditioning with me until we cool off and get some rain...we were over 90 degrees today and still bone dry.

Thanks again to lykaon78 and Roxanne for making my day!!!

LG: Nope - there are a bunch of hosta that “everyone has” that I have held off on buying - on purpose. I remember my first few trades and how worried I was...decided not to purchase all the most easily obtained hosta (no matter how badly I wanted them) so that whoever got my name would likely have a couple on hand I didn’t have (and REALLY wanted).

OOOOooooh...I had forgotten about our trade! Yippee...more new hosta!!! The seedling you sent a couple years ago is growing really well! LucyGoose now has 14 eyes!!!

I received my trade today from Linda_P! She packed that big triangle box full with ruffles! She sent Spring Fling, Bridal Veil, Ivory Necklace and a huge hunk of streaking Savannah Surpreme. They are all beautiful plants and it's hard to pick a favorite among all those ruffles.

Linda was my secret trader a couple years ago in a Hallson's mini trade. We'll have a whole bed of plants dedicated to her after this trade!

Thanks very much Linda!

Also, a special thanks to Roxanne for coordinating this trade. It's so much fun.

I got my box yesterday from LynneM, and what a great treat!
She was amazingly able to come up with plants I don't have, and looking perfectly healthy.
Popo, a really nice bluish mini
Sparky, wavy yellow edged narrow leaf
Waving Wuffles, a bright green ruffled edge
Goldbrook Glimmer, a subtly light centered Halcyon.

Lynne also sent me plants in 2005 in a secret swap, when I got Serendipity, Ox Heart, Darwin's Standard, and Blonde Elf. That same year Roxanne sent me Clifford's Stingray and Abba Showtime.

Thanks Lynne! And thanks Roxanne for running this!

:bd: :bd: :bd: Doin' the happy hosta dance :bd: :bd: :bd: . We got ours this morning. You would not believe how beautiful the little babies are. From Lori (hostasandpapillions).......

We got:
Twilight- how did you get it such a lush shade of green??
Tall Twister- one I haven't heard of, but it is beautiful. Ruffles and upright. Honey it doesn't get any better...oh wait, yes it does
Orange Marmalade- the colors on it are so vivid.
And
Cry Baby- It's just too cute for words. Oooh, I've got to find out how big/small this little baby will be. And she sent a nice little note telling me that this one came from Jones Nursery here in NC. Lori, you'll have to tell me where it is since my favorite hosta farm just went out of business.

I am so amazed. My DH and I have been collectors for a while so we have a large collection (moderately so   ). I can't believe it but they are all new to us. Lori, ya don good hon...Thank you so much, I truly love the plants you picked for us and I will but them in a special bed in honor of your generosity. And thank you also Roxanne for hosting the trade. You guys are the best.

Thanks again,
Terry & Anne

So funny how these things happen. John had my name in trade the last time I did this (2 years ago) and this year I had his. Then for my secret trader, I got great plants from Robyn (Willowy), with whom I had just done a personal trade. So these addresses are starting to look familiar!

Robyn sent some great stuff, of course:
Pilgrim, which is one of my favorites among "newer" hostas.
Amy Elizabeth, one of the family of Gold Drop (via Abby). I didn't know this one (M. Zilis 2003), but it looks like the best of the family!
Heart and Soul (everyone hear the piano start up?), a nice green-edged version of Vanilla Cream, keeping the creamy centers. Yum! One of the hostalibrary photos is from Hank's garden, and of course the plant looks great.
and…
Dancing Queen! yay! This was in the top five of my wish list. Robyn was kind to split one she had just received. I'll be happy to baby this one along.

Trades are fun, aren't they? Thanks again, Robyn! and thanks to Roxanne, too, who couldn't have known how this would turn out. :D

Secret Trade Received

Post by tap_ia_hifive_29 »

Chelielynn, so glad to hear that you received the secret trade. I did purchase the H.Silver Threads and Golden Needles from Josh especially for you. And in turn it was a strong plant so I have a division too. I do like it and hope the others all grow well for you. The reason you received minis is I moved about six of them from a space that does not get much rain to a better spot, so then I divided some of them that had become dividable. Enjoy. Did you have any of them? I thought maybe your son would like H. PoPo.

WOW!!! What a nice bunch of hosta I had waiting by the front door when I got home from work today. THANK YOU so much LucyGoose (aka Kathleen)!! They came from Hallson's and are nice beautiful plants (of course). I got Toy Soldier, Moonlight Sonata, and Lakeside Roy El, PLUS a bonus hosta of Pilgrim--and I don't already have ANY of them!! And the best part is....today's my birthday. I'm sure LucyGoose arranged to have them delivered for my birthday today, didnt you!! Another thing that's funny is I don't post too much, just read when I have time, and LucyGoose contacted me last year when she saw my forum name because she liked papillons so well. Now she has one, and we exchange pictures, and she ended up getting me in the secret trade. Isn't that funny!! Thanks again Kathleen and thank you Roxanne for putting this trade together. It's been so much fun reading what everyone is getting.

I got my secret trade today from rakenleafs. I couldn't wait for the mail lady to leave my porch since I still had my pj's on. Whohoo, I love these trades. I got: Stiletto, Night Before Christmas, Captain Kirk and Sweet Home Chicago. We are going to fence (white picket) a part of our back yard for the kids and dog, and I can't wait to make flower beds on the outside. I think the fence will back a great backdrop for my new hostas!!
Thanks Fran!! And thanks to Roxanne!!
