Thank you...
I've enclosed a picture of Kayla, but I am not good resizing.
They are too big to post. If someone would like to resize them, I'll email them to you.
Thank you all for all your kind words. I know you've all been there and felt the same loss over time.
We're doing ok, better when we're not at home. the Cherry Fest was this week so after work we were on the go. Brandon's friends have been taking him here and there.
The worst time is when we're home, especially if we're alone.
It sucks. I walk out back and just start bawling. We're still wired to feed and check her water throughout the day and just to check on her, look for her to play and visit with, give her her daily brushing, which she so hated. I don't think our routines will be broken for a long time.
Paul saw a baby bunny sitting in the back yard on the last spot she lay. The bunny ran in circles, kicking her legs, being all kinds of silly, then she slowly made her way to Kayla's doghouse and just sat outside her entrance for a long time. Every morning since, she's been sitting in the same spot when Paul first gets up, there she is.
When Paul's mom died a few years ago, a mama bunny gave birth in our living room window to six babies. It seemed symbolic with Paul being one of 6 brothers. The morning Kayla died another mama bunny gave birth to just one in the exact same spot, hours before we put her down.
We all want to think it's Kayla's way of letting us know she's still with us.
Dusty, I am unable to find that artist on ebay. Does she have a website? Hook me up when you get a chance.
I'd like to do something soon.
I'll try to get the pix on soon.
Thank you agian,
Jen

Jen, she does not have a website. I doubt she even has a computer. She's an older lady and doesn't drive either. She's very good however. She teaches a painting class and has done a few pet potraits for a friend of mine. I sell her wildlife prints and magnets here at the shop and folks just love them! I can give you my personal guarentee you will love her work. I am pming you with her phone number now.. You can call her yourself.
Ps. I remember the bunnies by the window. I wonder if this bunny you have now use to play with Kayla. I think the bunny is missing Kayla also.

Jen, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You gave her a good life, and to have her for 13 years is something really special. My old girl Dolly was 13 when I lost her this year, too. I know what you mean about the routine. I have just recently gotten past that.
Time does heal.

Haven't dropped into the Pet forum for months...so last night I did and saw this.
Kayla was such a beauty! And having her for so long....it had to be just the hardest thing to let her go...I hope your family's pain from losing her is starting to ease at least a little bit.
If you get her portrait done, be sure to post it for us.
Wishing you and your family some peace this day~
