Just a fair warning...bring $money$ for the auction - I am bringing a piece of Kent’s Split Decision OS (along with Bud Is Wiser)!!! I got off one good eye with a starter eye last night. Whoever gets it has to promise me that if mine dies, they will give me back a piece...I don’t have a spare yet (hehe). Also did some dividing for the Trade - will be bringing Party Favor, Moonlight and Abby.

Oh, and I will be bringing dessert of some sort...either chocolate something or pineapple upside down cake made with butter pecan cake.

I don't know yet what hosta I will bring for the auction, but I think I'll make that bean stuff again and some Scoops. That stuff is addicting.

Well, I already say the Bud is Wiser is MINE! I want that BAD!! So folks, I am prepared.....I have no room and can't buy hardly a thing to bring home with me, so Bud is Wiser is the ONLY THING I WANT!!! Got that?   Don't make me cry!! ROFLMBO!!!

Oh Joan, please use the Catalina dressing......WE LOVE THAT! Love you hun!

Oh man.....How can you already know what the heck your bringing, Wanda! ....shoot, I best get going then.....I need to get something for the trade, too.....cause the Otome is the auction plant.....It's okay to do the same plant again, right? I think I have a multi eyed one this year, too....I should look and remember this.....

Well, good luck with that - it didn’t get me a Tidewater either of the past two years...and sobbing doesn’t work, either (hehe).

And I know what I will bring because:

1. Have such a limited amount of time in the garden, have to get stuff done FAST, when I can (when Jeff is home to watch his mom).
2. 72 degrees, ground is damp and sky overcast now...and next week they are calling for another darn dry heat wave - so yesterday was the perfect time to divide!
3. MIL has to see a psychiatrist, then we have to see a lawyer, then she has to go to the memory clinic, then we see a social worker...all before she goes into a nursing home. Hopefully before our hosta event...so will be ever so busy the next couple weeks! Had to get my dividing done before things get busy...and probably pretty tense around here.

Boy, I am REALLY looking forward to a whole day away from home!!!!!

How does the trade work? Is it a one for one thing? Any limits?

Kathleen: Yep, I wanted that Tidewater BAD...twice! Not risking the agony of being outbid AGAIN...Chris is saving one for me to buy this year! Never thought of the street corner method of accumulating cash...but the way my luck is running I would be taken for a transvestite hooker rather than a panhandler (hehe).

Dave: The trade is great! Bring as many hosta to trade as you like - for each hosta you enter into the trade, you get a ticket and the matching ticket goes to Chris. Then he mixes up the tickets and draws one - the person with that ticket goes up and chooses one of the trade hosta. Then he draws another and that person goes up and picks a hosta...and on and on until all trade hosta are gone. Be prepared for some catcalls, abject begging, bribery and perhaps a discreet sob or two...some folks really want a certain hosta and will try their best to get you to NOT choose the one they want. We also bring other good hosta and have a hosta auction with the proceeds going to help pay the costs of the forum website. Also have a “raffle” sort of thing with hosta/garden/trinket sort of items we bring - I forget how that one works. Hey, you could bring one of your stunning pots...what do you think (hint, hint/nudge, nudge)? Looking forward to meeting you!

I am also bringing a hand-painted hosta tshirt to auction off...if all goes well and my hand doesn’t slip. I have 5 of 12 hosta painted already...and if I do say so myself, it is looking pretty sharp! Black men’s XL tshirt with 12 graphic hosta on the front - 3 across, 4 down. Each hosta is 5.5”x4.25”. The overall design is 14”wx22” long. I was thinking of you, Dave, as I drew them on the shirt...the graphic nature of the designs would suit your pottery quite well!

I don't know what I'm bringing for food yet either. I always buy a hosta from Chris & Brian to enter into the auction, and sometimes for the trade too. I am bringing some non-hosta stuff to raffle/auction off for donations to the forum.
Kathleen...please bring your broccoli salad...that is soooo good!
Dr. Dave...I hope you are coming, as it would be so great to meet you. I would love a chance to bid or win one of your pots or leaves. :D
Oh, I forgot to mention...B is W is MINE. I am bringing lots of cash this year and will not be outbid! :D And Split Decision you say?!?!?... hmmm... I may have to bid on that one too. :D
I can't wait to see everyone again. Old faces and new. This is always so much fun. We look forward to it every year!
The countdown has begun... 9 days and counting...

I am planning on coming with my 16 year old daughter who needs more hours to complete her driver's training, night and day time. We'll probably come very early and leave about 7 or 8 pm. It's about a 4 hour drive. Might have some stops on the way there or home, but the plan is to be there for most of the day.
I'll bring plants for sure, maybe some pottery.
This Sat/Sunday I will be in Chesterland at Ruh's for the "Art in the Garden" weekend, selling pottery that I have accumulated. They have asked a bunch of area artists to vend things. My pottery instructor is one of them. I just might be seen collecting pollen from rare plants.

Hey Dave! I was just up that way yesterday. I wanted to stop at the Ruh's place, but when I checked the website I saw where they were closed Mon-Wed. :( I did get a card in the mail about the special Art weekend there, but I'm unable to go.
And good luck with your DD driving! Did I ever tell you about the time my DS was driving (with his temps.) when we were coming back from Ky on a New Year's Day and he totalled our van with all of us in it! Keep an eye on her, especially on the turnpike. I like to drive fast, but sheesh! People must think that I-80 refers to the speed limit ....in the slow right-hand lane!!
I've already purchased two hostas from Chris for the trade , so I just need to find something for the auction. Whatever I bring I'll want Chris to look over first to make sure nothing is showing. I'd hate to get something for the auction and then find out later it's virused. I want to find something that Chris doesn't sell if possible.

Joan, I did not need to hear that!
She did a lot of driving to and from Indianapolis and it went well.

I have asked Chris to set aside some auction and lottery hostas for me, too!

Sure would love to win that t-shirt Wanda. I wouldn't have to smuggle a Dr. Dave hosta pot either! Too bad Zilis' next book isn't out yet.

See y'all in a few hours less than seven days!

Hi Dale!

I just double checked my emails and found yours in my old email box which I have pretty much had to abandon due to way too much spam (3 to 4 THOUSAND junk messages a day are coming in there). But just wanted to let you know I did find it (after reading your post :) ) and will see what we have :D

Brian and I are working fast and furious to get this place looking good for the party. See you a week from tomorrow!

I'm pretty sure I'll be there, but I don't know about Emily... I'll see what fun things I can bring for the auction. Chris is providing a 'Tidewater'?

No one has to worry about me re the auction. I was at the Midwest Regional AND I have to save some US$ for the Fall Hosta Forum.

I will be quiet and quieter this year! (I hope) hahahahahaha
