New dog/Little Man

Post by Ginger »

Since it looks like he is staying at our house I will now post and tell you about our newest addition.

Rat Terrier, male and cute as a button, but scared of everything! We are calling him Little Man cause he is small (but full grown best Vet can tell). Likley a toy or miniture but NOT neutered though

He showed up in our yard last Tuesday. DH came home from work and there he was on the deck with Doc and Temper, and surprisingly they did not seem to mind.

He does not seem to have been around people much at all, he is scared of us, but getting better. But he is quite at home with the dogs. LOVES to bark and chase the cats though :o Jack finally swatted him yesterday and boy did he yell and act like he was being killed!

We put up signs, called the neighbors and no one knew where he came from. I figure since we live so far out, someone must have dumped him

Anywhoo, I will get some pictures posted as soon as I can. He has gotten a lot more comfortable the last few days and is acting more like a people dog.... I give it three weeks till he is as spoiled as the rest of my animals

Well, I'm glad Little Man was dumped near you so that he could have a good forever home. I'm sure he will be perfectly spoiled soon :) Can't wait to see photos!

You can take him to the shelter or vet office to see if he has a microchip. They will scan for free.

Hi Spider! I did take him to our vet, no implant. I also wanted him to check him over and see if he could tell how old he is, and why he only has one testicle :o
Vet thinks from the teeth etc he is about 2 years old.
He said the other testicle is most likley still up inside, so when we have him netured, they will go up and take it out.

Andi, you are right, he will be rotten soon. I figured who ever dumped him saw our dogs in the yard and figured we were suckers

Don't you wish you could hear the conversation between he and your dogs on the deck before your husband got home. :D I bet they adopted him before you had a chance! :D He knew a good thing when they filled him on the rules of the house and how pet friendly you are!!

Definitely need pics :)

Finally got a picture of Little Man. He is such a sweet dog! He has his mean side though. He loves to get on the bed and jump on my head and bite my hair in the mornings

Sorry for the picture quality, I had to resize it on my computer instead of making a thumbnail through Photobucket. It crashes my computer so I cannot use it anymore :x

Ginger you will enjoy him but he needs a lot of exercise.
I had a tan and white one that looked like the Jack Russel on the dog food commercial.

Like Little Man Mickey slept on my bed and loved to get underneath the covers and down at the foot of the bed.I had to be careful not to hit him or he would let me know wilt a little growl.

He was very healthy and lived to be 14 or15.
