Wow Spider, is that the view from your garden?!
NICE!!!
Karma, if I had pick just one picture of my favorite place, it would be hard.
Instead, I had to go out and take a few pictures of the house before the roofers come tomorrow to replace the roof, so I'll use one of those! This is a typical picture of the front. By next week, as those iris continue to come into bloom, there will be a huge blast of purple in the front yard. We always get lots of comments when they are in full bloom. There's another big patch of them out of photo range on the left.
The front of our place is kind of bland because DH doesn't want it to look like the crazy garden lady lives here.
So he let's me do all the fun stuff in the back yard and we keep a neat-n-tidy look in the front. (Although you will notice I was able to sneak in a few hostas in front of the porch)

This is the spot I chose to post, because it was such an eyesore when we moved here. That is a "hump" because there is a dozer pile of fence posts and wire under there that was covered with manure. The soil is fantastic, but it is a mess under it. When we moved here it was covered with hemlock about 8 feet tall. We got it bush hogged down and tried to mow it, but that was impossible, so we covered it with thick black plastic and gravel, then we started adding the larger rocks and it just sort of evolved.

Tracy, I love your "hump"
you've turned an eyesore into a lovely spot.
In the back corner of my lot is a pile of rolls of old rusted fencing, posts, and concrete chunks. I've been wondering how to get it out of here. Perhaps the answer is just to cover it all up and plant things on it!!
Lucy, I love your loooooong hosta border along there!
Beautiful pond, Andi!!
Thanks for starting this thread, Karma . . . I love looking at pictures!

This is the walk leading to my front door. It was taken in April this year. It's kind of dark. I should have taken it in the morning before the house shaded it.

Never before have so few with so much promised to take away so much from so many and then laugh their asses off as the so many with so little vote for the so few with so much.

Thanks, Yes that's a contorted filbert.
It was just budding out. I didn't realise it would get so large, almost too big for the area. I cut branches from it for my small parrots to perch on.

Thanks Jane.
It was raining while I stood on the porch and used the zoom to take the pic.
Yes, I do love the garden after a rain when it's still wet. Everything looks so fresh and clean then.

Nice view out your front door Pat, so fresh looking. I love the rain look too.
Okay I had to look up the difference in filbert vs hazelnut as they both are listed in the Sunset book under corylus. She sure is pretty GT!
